About Bamboo Legend

Situated right in the center of a square in a location that draws passersby' attention and as the first check-in hotspot of Grand World, the Bamboo Legend proudly affirms its position as a masterpiece that reflects the national spirit of Vietnam.

This work is built from 42,000 bamboo trees from Tay Ninh region, which are carefully selected to ensure aesthetic values and sustainable practices. The project boasts a height of nearly 15 meters and an area of up to 7,000 square meters. Below the bamboo structure, there is a 700-square-meter design constructed from reflective materials, which produce mirror-like effects that make the whole piece sparkle on the water surface.

The designer of Bamboo Legend is Vo Trong Nghia, one of the few prominent architects specializing in bamboo structures around the globe. He has contributed significantly to the introduction and popularization of the Vietnamese bamboo to the world. His most notable works, such as the bamboo swing, have garnered much critical acclaim and numerous prestigious architectural awards. With the bamboo project at Grand World, Vo Trong Nghia continues to breathe life into the bamboo tree and breaks his own limits. The Bamboo Legend gracefully brings together important symbols of Vietnam, including:

  • The Lotus - The national flower of Vietnam
  • The Bronze Drum - A hidden treasure of Vietnam’s cultural quintessence
  • The Bamboo Tree - A symbol of Vietnamese's people good qualities of solidarity, loyalty, nobility, and indomitability.
