At its center stands a 7.9-meter-tall statue of President Ho Chi Minh surrounded by figures representing various ethnic groups. This monument reenacts his visit and speech to the people of Tuyen Quang in 1961. Behind, a 22-meter-tall relief, inspired by Tan Trao Banyan Tree and Tho Son Mountain, showcases historical sites and cultural scenes.
More than an attraction, this monument reflects Tuyen Quang’s deep admiration for President Ho Chi Minh and his role in Vietnam’s revolutionary history.
2.2. Temple of President Ho Chi Minh
To the right of Nguyen Tat Thanh Square stands the Temple of President Ho Chi Minh. Built in August 2014 after over a year of construction, the temple’s architecture follows the 丁 character with three main halls, two side compartments, and a rear sanctuary.
Crafted by skilled artisans, the temple’s structure primarily features ironwood and natural bluestone. Inside, there is a bronze statue of President Ho Chi Minh, standing 1.72 meters tall and weighing 1.4 tons. The decorative elements reflect Vietnamese temple design while incorporating motifs that celebrate the heritage of Tuyen Quang’s ethnic minorities. Above the main hall, there is a large calligraphic plaque that reads "Chinh Dai Quang Minh".
2.3. Spacious and green area
Nguyen Tat Thanh Square features 32 lawn sections interwoven with walkways, resembling Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi. In front of the temple, commemorative trees add to the greenery. Beyond being a recreational space for locals, the square also serves as a venue for annual cultural and political events.
