Phu Quoc shines most beautifully from October to April every year, when the weather is less rainy and more convenient for travelling. Here is the recommended 3-day travelling plan to Phu Quoc from Marine Poy and her group of 7 friends.
Visitors coming to Phu Quoc should spend at least 3-4 days to discover all tourist attractions. A 3-day trip to Phu Quoc is both time and cost efficient, with a budget of only 5 million VND/person.
Day 1: Rach Vem fishing village
Rach Vem fishing village is located in the north of Phu Quoc island, about 25km from Duong Dong town. Rach Vem is regarded as the "kingdom of starfish", with beaches of crystal clear water and wild, peaceful scenery. The sea bridges and simple raft houses here are ideal spots for visitors to check-in and capture artistic photos. Rach Vem also has coastal shops with fresh seafood, which is caught fresh-off-the-boat and sold at affordable prices. The price for a group of 7 tourists to visit this destination is about 1.2 million VND/person.
After visiting Rach Vem and having lunch, you can return to the hotel room to rest before watching the sunset at Sunset Sanato. This is a tower with artificial landscapes, featuring a giant gatekeeper statue and an elephant & jellyfish model. The ticket price to Sunset Sanato is around 100,000 VND / person.
Day 2: An Thoi Station - Hon Thom - Snail Bar
An Thoi Station is the first stopping point of Hon Thom cable car - the longest sea-crossing cable car in the world that impresses visitors with its Mediterranean style. The ticket price of the cable car is 450,000 VND/trip. The station opens from 8 AM and the operating frequency is 30 minutes/trip. This is truly a magnificent project with a total length of 7,899.9 meters.
Hon Thom has been recognized by the Guinness Foundation as "The world's longest 3-wire cable car." After departing An Thoi station, the cable car will take you through Hon Dua, Hon Roi and then stop at the final destination, which is Hon Thom. When sitting on the cable car, visitors can admire the majestic natural scenery of the island and embrace the breathtaking views as the sky and the sea merges into one in a mesmerizing greenness. Upon coming to Hon Thom, visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the wilderness, with activities such as squid fishing, scuba diving, and watching corals, as well as to take part in thrilling games such as surfing and paragliding.
Another ideal place for a 3-day trip to Phu Quoc is sunset watching at the Snail Bar, a bar with orange lazy chairs set on white sand. In the peaceful rays of evening sunlights, visitors can unwind and create unforgettable memories with exotic tropical drinks and live music.
Day 3: Bai Sao - Vinpearl Safari
Sao Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Phu Quoc, with a pristine coast, heavenly sandlines and tranquil scenery characterized by gentle ripples. Activities not to be missed at this beach include kayaking, windsurfing, fishing, snorkeling, and water motorcycling.
Another must-visit destination in Phu Quoc is Vinpearl Safari. To get here, visitors can catch the Vinpearl shuttle. There is no fare to use the shuttle.
Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc is the home to more than 3,000 animals belonging to different species from Europe, South Africa, and all corners of the world. Every day, the zoo will host 2 exciting animal shows.
When scheduling this trip, don't forget to make time for transportations in-between bus stops. Every 2 hours, there is a bus back to Duong Dong. To have enough time for discovery, you should ask the driver the bus schedule before leaving the vehicle. We were too engaged in playing that day and missed the bus, and had to rent a car to return to Duong Dong. Luckily, we met a nice and enthusiastic driver, who only charged us 300,000 VND for the ride.
We also visited the theme park VinWonders Phu Quoc to check-in in front of the impressive buildings and buy sourvenirs to bring home. Later that day, our group went back to the resort to pack and go to the airport. The journey to Phu Quoc was truly a memorable one.
These are some of our experiences when travelling to Phu Quoc, from which you can consult and schedule your plan accordingly. I first booked my tickets directly on Vinpearl's website, which is both trustworthy and convenient. Luckily, I earned some good promotions and could purchase awesome combos for our trip.
We wish you a pleasant journey!
