2. Things to know about the history of Hoang A Tuong Palace

The palace's construction started in 1914 and was completed after 7 years. According to history, before 1945, Bac Ha District was a semi-feudal society governed by Hoang Yen Chao over some ethnic groups. This unique architectural work has endured since then. In 1999, the mansion was recognized as a national relic. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction in Bac Ha, having retained its majestic appearance after more than 100 years of existence.

This palace had a particular architectural structure compared to other edifices in Vietnam at that time. It served as a place to stay for Hoang Yen Chao and his son Hoang A Tuong. The entire palace has a rectangular shape with a total area of 4,000 square meters, maintaining the blend between French and Oriental architecture. The buildings are adorned with detail such as laurels motifs embossed on entrance gates, arched railing doors, elegant pillars, round balustrades, and tiled hallways.
