  • Choose the suitable outfit: For cool and pleasant weather, you can opt for casual outfits like t-shirts and jeans. In winter, prepare warm and waterproof clothing such as hoodies, wool coats, and jackets. Remember to prepare a comfortable pair of shoes, as a lot of walking is required when visiting this place.
  • Do not give money to local children: If you encounter young children asking for money, giving money directly could encourage more begging. To help improve the lives of children in the area, consider supporting local schools or charitable organizations in the area instead.
  • Best time to visit Nho Que River: The ideal time for a Nho Que River tour is in the autumn, specifically from September to November. The pleasant weather allows for enjoying the blooming buckwheat flowers across the rocky plateau, while avoiding the intense summer heat, bitter winter cold, and wet spring drizzles.
  • Get to Nho Que River boat station in Ha Giang: There are two wharfs available to get to Nho Que River: Ta Lang Wharf and Xin Cai Wharf.

Ta Lang Wharf is located in Ta Lang Village, Pai Lung Commune, approximately 4 kilometers away from Dong Van. The road leading to Ta Lang Wharf is about 8 kilometers long but can be bumpy and challenging with multiple bends and steep climbs. If you choose to travel by motorbike, ensure your tires are in good condition, or consider taking a taxi for a safer journey.

Xin Cai Wharf is the first of the three remote communes in Meo Vac District. From the Ma Pi Leng Pass area, you can spot the road to Xin Cai Wharf. The route to Xin Cai Wharf is equally challenging as Ta Lang Wharf and offers picturesque views of the Nho Que River.
