3.3. Visa on Arrival

To make a multiple-entry visit or to stay for more than 30 days in Vietnam, you will need to apply for a visa on arrival. The requirements for a visa on arrival include:

  • A 4x6 passport photo without glasses, with a white background
  • A completed Vietnam visa application form
  • A passport or alternative form of identification that is valid for at least six months from the day you intend to enter Vietnam
  • Payment for visa fees (between $25 USD and $50 USD)
  • A letter of approval from the Vietnamese Immigration Department (if you plan to pick up your visa at the airport)

You can submit your photo, application form, passport, and visa fee to a nearby Vietnam embassy or consulate. You can refer to this website https://visa.mofa.gov.vn/Homepage.aspx for the process.

If you are unable to contact a Vietnam embassy or are pressed for time, reputable online services can help you obtain a legitimate Vietnam Visa Letter of Approval for a fee. When you arrive at the airport, take this letter, a visa application form, and other documents to the Visa on Arrival counter.

***Note: When you arrive at the airport, you should pay your visa stamp fee either in US dollars or Vietnamese dongs.
